Recessed downlights, also known as 'capped-F type' fittings, are becoming increasingly popular in residential settings. However, without proper protection, the heat generated by these lights can pose a fire risk if it comes into contact with ceiling insulation. Our cost-effective loft cones, rated for 30 minutes of fire protection, provide a crucial barrier between the light fixture and insulation. They are robust enough to support most standard types of loft insulation and comply with current standards, including BS EN 60598 Section 12.4 and BS 476 Part 20. These cones are designed to fit lights with cut-out dimensions ranging from 50mm to 100mm and are suitable for both aluminium and dichroic reflector lamps up to 50 watts.
