The small kitchen fire blanket is suitable for fires involving cooking fats and oils up to 3 litres and comes with a 5-year warranty. Larger fire blankets are available for commercial use.
With a mounting eyelet for hanging on the wall, the blanket is secured within the pouch using Velcro fastening and is easily released by simply pulling the tabs down. To use, unfold the blanket and then carefully place the blanket over the flames by holding the pull tabs. The kitchen fire blanket works by smothering the fire and cutting out oxygen so it can burn itself out and prevent the fire from spreading.

Special Note: Beware of cheap, untested fire blankets sold on marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay. They often state "C E Standard: 1869-1997" near the top and "Made in P.R.C." near the bottom. Some of these may burn through or actually catch fire when used.
