In modern buildings, piping must pass through ceiling, walls and floors. When these pipes pass through fire rated surfaces, the fire resistance of connecting compartments is compromised. The piping and wall penetration can allow fire to spread quickly from area to area. A thermal pipe sleeve is an easy to install, cost-effective solution. In the event of fire, the sleeve expands, crushing and sealing off the piping. This prevents the spread of fire from compartment to compartment via piping runs.
Simple to install, just cut sleeve to size and install in desired location. Each thermal sleeve can replace two standard collars. The flush mounted installation of this sleeve is a benefit where aesthetic appeal must be retained. The thermal fire pipe sleeve is a versatile solution, and is compatible with plastic, copper and mild steel piping. Acoustic and thermal properties are comparable to standard mineral fibre insulation. Complies with all water bylaws, and all regulations applicable to hot water pipes and heating systems. Tested to BS476: Part 20 & 22, and NHBC type approved. Fire rated for two hours plus of protection. Wall used during all testing had a thickness of 25mm. Product testing verified effectiveness for both flush and 25mm exposed installations.
