Combining two methods for detecting fire into one unit, the advanced multi-sensor combines the benefits of dual optical and heat sensing technologies. This means that the Nittan EV-DPH-CS Dual Optical and Heat Detector is less prone to false alarms than individual sensing devices.
Using innovative technology, the low-profile detector analyses particle size to differentiate between smoke, steam, dust and aerosols. Featuring Infra-Red and blue LEDs, the angled sensor which only receives the light when reflected off smoke entering the chamber which then activates the alarm. This gives more reliable detection which is suitable for areas of multiple occupancies like hotels, flats and hospitals.
The dual optical smoke sensor uses drift compensation and a grey-coloured chamber to prevent dust and other slow environmental changes affecting its performance. The CS fixed-temperature heat sensor activates at a set temperature of 92°C, and the unit comprises a sensor self-test feature.
With an Omni-view indication light which is visible from 360°, this means it can be installed in any orientation, which is the red ring visible in the pictures. This shows when the alarm is activated, or flashes to show it is communicating with the control panel, although this is controllable. Needing a detector base, sold separately, the EV-DPH-CS detector fits Nittan and Nittan protocol systems and is addressed using a handheld programming tool.
For a dual optical and heat detector with a rate-of-rise sensor, look at the Nittan EV-DPH-A2R Heat Detector.
