Astroflame’s High Pressure PFP Sealant ensures fire spread prevention that you can depend on, accommodating standard uses as well as difficult services that traditional mastics can’t fulfil. This graphite formulation is designed to secure openings in fire rated walls and floors against the spread of fire, smoke, and gases. It does so quickly, forming its film in 30 minutes, becoming non-sticky and tack free after an hour, and taking up to five days to fully harden, depending on thickness and temperature. And then having a whopping 30 year working life after that.

Once set, the graphite will expand when exposed to fire, closing openings around penetrations and filling space left by low-temperature melting materials. The sealant is grey in colour, fitting in well with almost all standard materials, and is rated primarily for use with plastic pipes, cables, and combustible pipe insulations. It will accommodate movement up to 12.5%, and is suitable for most non-porous surfaces, including steel, wood, glass, and concrete. It can be stored between 5˚C and 30˚C for a minimum of twelve months.

It is simple to apply, has a smooth surface finish, provides high sound insulation, has low emissions to ensure environment and user-friendliness, and on top of all that, there is no priming necessary for application to most materials. It should be noted, however, that the performance of the sealant is based on testing conducted after it has been allowed to cure for 30 days.
