The blanket is secured in its pouch with a Velcro closure, allowing for quick release by pulling down the tabs. To deploy, simply unfold the blanket and place it over the fire using the pull tabs. It works by smothering the flames and cutting off the oxygen, effectively extinguishing the fire and stopping it from spreading.
